What is armoury crate asus11/13/2023 ![]() ![]() Is Armoury Crate really that bad?Įdit: I am also curious about CPU and RAM usage. In addition, with these updates we have also decreased the dead zone for the joystick when in Desktop Mode. This update contains Hold to Repeat functionality for controller buttons, new levels of VRAM adjustment, and more. Similar posts for RGB Fusion, but I have nothing but good experiences with the latter. We have released a new update to the microcontroller unit and a new update for Armoury Crate SE on the ROG Ally. Tl dr: Considering ASUS board, have seen TONS of posts telling of performance loss associated with Armoury Crate, which is required for RGB. So I am mainly looking for user feedback on whether or not Armoury Crate is fine and that its a minority with issues, if anyone notices and FPS drops in games, etc. However, RGB fusion does one thing and one thing only, polar opposite to Armoury Crate it seems. I do use just static color, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Worst I've experienced with RGB Fusion is needing to manually start it every month or so, because my RAM color was the default, but as soon as I started the app, the Ram RGB would work and I would just X out of it. RGB Fusion also has a ton of posts about bad experiences, but I have built several PCs recently with Gigabyte boards, and RGB fusion works just fine, uses 0% CPU and 100MB of RAM tops. Initially, I thought that its a subset of vocal people. Game launcher for mobo software? Monitoring pieces? Power profiles? Fan speeds (lul BIOS?)? I also see a TON of people saying that Armoury Crate, which is now required for RGB, kills gaming performance or causes other issues. However, as I started looking into the software, I notice that it includes a ton of junk that I have no interest in using. ![]() A z690 mobo that really caught my eye and stood above all others to me was the ASUS Maximus Hero. I even secured some DDR5 RAM that is always sold out in the event I decide to pull the trigger on the build, returning the RAM if I don't move forward. I've been considering putting together a build with a 12900k.
